Estragon Disses: Pocket God

In some games you amass points as a reward, in other games you collect gold and experience, and then there is just the reward of unlocking new and different challenges. Pocket God contains none of these qualities. I think the audience for this game is people who used to have ant farms, and enjoyed busting out the magnifying lens to fry their unsuspecting farmers.

I have tried to like this game. The level of polish on the graphics and controls makes it deserve some attention. It is one of the only games that has been deleted and reinstalled to be given another chance at a later date, in no small part, thanks to a dedicated developer that regularly updates with new free ‘content’. Unfortunately, all these pluses don’t make for the fact that this game seems to have no point other than to occasionally torture/kill some digital native with no consequence, reward, or reason.

I’d give this one a C.
