W.

Just saw an ad for the new Oliver Stone film, “W.”  It said, under the title, “Based on a true story”.  Really?  A biopic about the current US president is based on a true story?  I wouldn’t have thought that.  Good thing they put that in there.

As to whether or not I’m going to see it?  Well, let’s just say that Mr. Stone still owes me $8 for “Nixon”.  God that movie sucked.

Advertising

Ads generally suck, and annoy the crap out of us. We’ve grown used to it and desensitized to it as a culture, so it just floods more and more into everything so we simply can not escape it. Which is really unfortunate, because sometimes a truly artful and creative ad comes along and it will get missed entirely. Thankfully this one got featured on an art blog I frequent. Bravo to Audi for commissioning this wonderful little piece of animation.

Evolution

With multiple wars, a recession, and Twilight novels in the top ten list at Amazon, its easy to get bummed about the state of humanity; however after watching this quick little ad, its clear that we have come along way as a species in the last 24 years.

How to Sell Missiles

How do you know which arms supplier to use when you are trying to arm your nations army? I had never given it much thought, but it is an interesting question. Apparently, if you are in the business of selling missiles you can in fact make advertisements for said products, and even Rick Roll your potential clients (this isn’t actually a Rick Roll, but it is an Israeli cover of a Rick Astley song, done in a Bollywood style). I truly hope this was not successful method of selling arms. I personally prefer my missile dealers to be a tad more masculine. Perhaps less dancing, more explosions?

More about this atrocity can be found here.
