What is the world coming to?  These companies, with their ads!  How dare they try to make money?  Good thing we have advocates reviewing the marketing material to ensure kids are kept from seeing products they might want.

From what I can tell it isn’t even that the products are age inappropriate.  It’s that a book publisher would try and sell ancillary products that tie into the branding of their books.

Here is an idea. Instead of wasting time, money, and effort on this crap you go teach an illiterate kid to read or feed a starving child?  Kids that are enrolled in freaking reading clubs probably have at least the basics covered.
