I’m a comic geek. It’s been many years since I collected singles in any sort of meaningful fashion, actually over ten years if I think about it, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t an art form that is near and dear to my heart. When I was a kid and teenager super hero stuff was my favorite, and these days the movies still give me a geek-gasm, but lately I have been leaning to a more ‘thoughtful’ interpretation of the media.
Hands down the best of these kinder and more gentle comics is the Fables series. Willingham is a genius. They are smart, funny, at times sweet, sometimes surprising, and always well executed. I just finished up the 11th graphic novel that just released, and now I can’t sleep because it has me excited. Unfortunately it means that I also have wait until August before another collection is ready to read.
I have also read all of Y the Last Man, and am re-reading all of Samura’ Blade of the Immortal. Any other suggestions? Any must reads?

I’m currently into Scott Pilgrim, and Sandman…
I’ve heard good things about The Walking Dead, though I’ve never read it. All of my comics are stuck in the 80s and 90s. Though I can recommend the Dark Phoenix Saga. Snkkt…
